Your name

Kit Frost

A little about yourself, if you would like.

After spending many years applying, in 2015 I was chosen as the Artist in Residence at Crater Lake in May and Acadia National Park in June 2015. My areas of submission included photography and digital video, time lapse and the night sky, and a bit of oil painting too.

The dominant theme at each of these locations was support.  The team at Crater Lake, Marsha McCabe (Chief Interpretive Ranger) and Kate Petrie, Chief of Education at Acadia were amazing.  The access to both parks was terrific, although Crater Lake hiking trails are not very accessible in the winter residency.  Snowshoes are supplied though.  The opportunity to work/teach/share  with the visitors and staff was terrific.

In 2016, I’ve been selected for residencies at Bighorn Canyon NRA (Christy Fleming, Chief of Interpretation), the ReImagine Montana Artist Residency at Glacier National Park, Mesa Verde Artist in Residence in September too.  Follow my adventures through photography at  and while in the parks I share my photos by uploading to the parks’ Facebook page.  Check it out.
