Exhibition Opportunity Summer 2015: MOUNTAINS

Hello fellow NPS artists,

I am organizing the third annual summer exhibition focusing on artists who have been artists in residence at national parks. The theme will be mountains, thus the work should be mountain related: mountains themselves, flora, fauna, people’s relationship with the montane environment, etc. The work can represent a current or past experience. I will be highlighting Rocky Mountain National Park, as it is the centennial of the park in 2015 but I will also have a variety of other parks represented.

I will be looking for artists to exhibit June 12-July 31 of 2015 at the Schlueter Art Gallery of Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee, WI. Past exhibits have always been warmly received by the community especially by “Pathways to College” summer academy students from underserved areas in Milwaukee. Past participating artists have included: Kathy Hodge, Kathleen Heidemann, Joyce Koskenmaki, Geri Schrab, Diane Bywaters, Jan Wurm, Kirsten Furlong and myself.

I will be posting more detailed information in January 2015. In the meantime, think MOUNTAINS!

Feel free to email me with any questions at: kristin.gjerdset@wlc.edu. Put in the subject line: AIR Exhibit
