Bighorn Canyon National Recreational Area – Artist in Residency – Application Deadline: January 31, 2016

Bighorn Canyon Artist In Residence Program

Beautiful Mountainscapes, landscapes, waterscapes and wild horses await.
The Artist in Residence program at Bighorn Canyon has had two inspiring and fun years and Bighorn Canyon is gearing up for a third. In the last two years they have artists from all over the country and locally too. These artists come to enjoy the solitude of the Canyon, work on their art and share their art with the park visitors.

Bighorn Canyon is now taking applications for the third year of the artist in residence program.
Artists in this program will be able to discover and interpret Bighorn Canyon through their own creative projects. Writers, sculptors, musicians, composers, photographers, painters, and performing artists are all welcome to apply for this program. Artists must submit a resume, list of professional works, photos of their work, and a letter of intent. The letter should include why the artist is interested in helping to preserve, through their work, Bighorn Canyon’s resources. The application is due to Christy Fleming by January 31, 2016. Park staff will review the applications and select artists for the program. Specific dates for this pro¬gram have not yet been decided as they are dependent on housing available and the artists. In past years, Artists have been allowed to stay at the Ewing/Snell ranch, however, there was a devastating fire last week and that is not an option at this time. Artist may be asked to bring their own accommodations, an RV or tent.

Applications for the Bighorn Canyon Artist In Residence program can be found on the park website at www.nps.gov/bica.  Applications must be turned in by January 31, 2016. For more information, call Christy Fleming at (307) 548-5406 or email her at Christy_Fleming@nps.gov

When I look at the Bighorn website, I cannot find the application. Is there one available? Thanks.
