I have done two of these residencies, they are life changing — you should go for it! And feel free to ask me any questions about the program or application process on our VOW forum
On behalf of the US Forest Service, National Park Service and US Fish & Wildlife Service, I’m pleased to announce that we have eleven wilderness areas across Alaska that will be hosting artists in 2016 through the Voices of the Wilderness artist residency program—more opportunities than ever before to experience our wild Alaskan public lands while working alongside a wilderness specialist.
Furthermore, each opportunity is completely unique. Every hosting area offers the chance to engage artists in different wilderness management projects all over our great state, from the far north of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, to the west in Togiak National Wildlife Refuge, to Misty Fiords National Monument on the Tongass National Forest in Southeast Alaska.
Attached is the information and application for this upcoming summer’s residencies. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me, or any of the other wilderness managers listed on the ‘INFORMATION’ document.
